Features of Dragons

Dragon is one of the pets types available in Lineage II. From the beginning Hatchlings are small and weak, but the can grow up into powerful helpers. There are 3 stages of Dragon evolution: Hatchling – Strider – Wyvern. Stage 3 is available to the owners of certain Clan Halls and Castles. In some Clan Halls you can turn your Strider into a Red Strider. In Gracia Plus update a new Dragon type was added: Guardian's Strider. This pet can be purchased for Territory Badges from a Mercenary Captain. Different Dragons have different characteristics: strong physical attack (Wind Striders), strong mag. attack (Star Striders), and fast speed (Twilight Striders). Having completed the quest, you get a random Hatchling belonging to one of these types. You cannot choose which type you’d like to get. But you can complete this quest as many times as you like.

Wind Strong physical attack. Consumes more master’s XP than other types:
before lvl 55: 23% XP, after lvl 55: 16% XP
Star Strong mag. attack. Consumes average amount of master's XP:
before lvl 55: 20% XP, after lvl 55: 15% XP
Twilight A weak Hatchling, but it moves very fast. Consumes very little of master's XP:
before lvl 55: 5% XP, after lvl 55: 3% XP

Once your Hatchling has evolved into a Strider, you can mount it or turn into a Wyvern.

Bringing up a Hatchling

Gaining levels

You need to summon your Hatchling during hunting so it grow up and develop. Hatchlings consume a certain part of their master's XP and gain levels. If your Hatchling has reached lvl 55, it can evolve into a Strider.

If a Hatchling/Strider helps you in a combat, you can use Soulshots/Spiritshots you empower the attack. Hatchlings of the Wind/Wind Striders use Soulshots. Hatchlings of the Stars/Star Striders use Spiritshots. Hatchling of Twilights/Twilight Striders are too weak to help you in a battle. Hatchlings/Striders use Beast Spiritshots/Beast Soulshots from their master’s inventory. Drag the necessary type of them onto the hotkeys bar and right-click them so they could be used automatically. Beast Spiritshots/Beast Soulshots can be purchased from Pet Managers.

Keeping your pet well-fed

Hatchlings/Striders, like other pets, must feed. The speed of getting hungry depends on your pet’s state, in growing order. Non-combat → With master mounted → In combat mode → In combat mode with master mounted.

To increase your per’s fullness level, you need to use special food. There are different types of food for Hatchlings/Striders, Pet Managers sell them. Place the food into your pet’s inventory, and your pet will consume it automatically when its fullness level is 55% or below.
