The choice of equipment for protection is very important. In Lineage II Classic armor protects against physical damage, and Accessoriesincrease magic defence.

General Info
In Lineage 2 Classic there are 3 types of armor - Heavy, Light and Magic (robe) armor. Knights and Warriors primarily use heavy armor. Daggers and Archers use light armor. Sorcerers and Healers use magic armor. Almost every class has the skill to wear certain types of armor.
Starting from Grade B or higher, some armor pieces can be crafted or received while hunting monsters (such armor is sealed). A Blacksmith in any township (except starting villages) can unseal your items of Grade B for a certain fee.
Sets
Several specific pieces of armor form an Armor Set. A set of armor gives additional bonuses and makes you more effective in battle against monsters or other characters.
Sealed Items
The items created based on recipes grade B and above, are crafted as sealed. To unseal them and to get the actual item, you need to talk to NPC Blacksmith in a township. You’ll need a 
Cloth Piece and a certain amount of adena.
